I'm just saying thats what I priced it at online to compare it to what the shop quoted me.

It doesn't hurt to shop around. I would avoid the chain muffler shops though. Google your local custom exhaust shops and see what people had anything to say about them.

Im going to try and get a bunch of more quotes, specifically from ones that sell Magnaflow stuff, but I will get some from non-magnaflow dealers aswell. Hopefully they will be lower than $680.

I'm guessing GM doesnt offer pre-bent tubing for the silverado?

I bought a magnaflow for 90 on ebay and bought some cheap 40 dollar tips. I went to mcdondald muffler(a local chain around here) and they supplied, bent, and welded everything up for 110

Has nothing to do with sound. You are way above your head here

lol why didnt you just go aluminized if its just for exhaust. crappy stainless will rust/rot out just as fast as aluminzed steel. along with hangers and such, im glad you like your stainless exhuast for much less, but this guy is just shopping around and you chime in WAY TO MUCH with no reason why expect well all know u dont care in the difference of stainless its just an exhaust "LMAO"

and seeing that he lives in canada maybe thats a good reason why he would like to invest in good stainless....
yes yours has a life time warranty but does he reallly wnat to have to bring it back in to a shop to get fixed when if he just bought the better stuff to begin with he wouldnt have too.

Your opinion counts here as much as anybodys. It's what makes this site what it is. Exhaust are made up of all kinds of different grades of metal and like anything, you get what you pay for. I doubt the sound is going to be any different if the only difference in the exhaust is the type of metal used. Odds are most people are not going to have there vehicule long enough to have the exhaust rust out on them. But if you are getting a better grade expect to pay more and cost are going to differ between locations everywhere you go. A prime example of this is to seach the threads for people asking how much they paid to have their beds Line-X'ed. Prices range from low $400 to $600+

You guys thought it was too much before, and now, I called them again and it turns out they dont use stainless... they use aluminized steel. Not only that, they dont mandrel bend :( So fml. Im not paying $680 for aluminized steel. I called about 5 other shops and basically got the same thing. Would be anywheres from $650-750 for a non mandrel bent aluminized steel exhaust.

Just order something and put it on yourself or have a shop do the install.
