Aeroskin Low Profile Bug Shield *pics*

Postby mohms [OP] » Jun 09 2011, 2:37am

I thought I'd post a couple pictures of the bug shield I installed on my 08 Sierra tonight. I saw other threads with pics but didn't want to bump an old thread. :?

I am ohhhh so glad I didn't go with chrome. I think the black looks super sleek and it matches the paint perfectly! It also follows the body lines flawlessly, and was easy to install.

Aeroskin Low Profile Bug Shield *pics*

Postby TreeTalker » Jun 09 2011, 5:26am

That looks great! I've been looking at bug shields for a week now. That's the best looking one I've seen.

Can you tell me if it rides against the hood in any spots? Some I've seen have small rubber bumpers that sit between the shield and hood. Seems like all the old ones I've ever seen like that rub the paint through.

Any insight you could provide would be helpful. Thanks.

The only place there isn't 3M tape is where it flares up going down the slope on the hood near each end. There is a little 1/2"x1" or so rubber pad on the shield itself, but the thing is pretty tight to begin with so I don't think it will be rubbing all that much. If you are worried about it, stick a little rubber bumper to the truck, not the shield. That way nothing rubs against your paint.

That was the old thread I didn't want to bump ;) Although, I guess it is less than a month old
