Backup Light Supplements 2017 Silverado Crewcab

Factory backup lights too dim, looking for something to put in receiver

Backup Light Supplements 2017 Silverado Crewcab

Postby OhioRedTruck [OP] » Apr 11 2017, 8:51pm

The Chevy backup lights are too dim when it's dark outside (they are fine in the sunlight).

I hope to find something that I can slide into the receiver and use the 7 or 4 pin trailer connector to power.

Has anyone found anything they like that'll fit on the 2017 Silverado Crew Cab?

White Night 4199 looked good, but the seller said it wouldn't fit a 2017 model.

Seems like you want something quick and easy. But if its really an issue you could wire in some driving lights tapped off the reverse lights. Obviously you will need to run a relay and wire from the battery though.

Im on a never ending quest to gather up enough pop cans so I can buy a nice extended cab or crew cab, so I don't have to hide my head when im driving this strippy standard cab of mine. So people don't have to feel sorry for me.

Thanks for reminding me, I just purchased this a few mins ago. People on the Tacoma forum loved these, and they are very well integrated. They have some brackets that go around the hitch and let you mount cube lights but they don't look as clean.

The ones that mount around the hitch look not so nice. Flush mount pods in the bumper wouldn't be bad

Re: Backup Light Supplements 2017 Silverado Crewcab

After seeing this thread I replaced my backup lights with the JDM Astar 1270 Lumen bulbs. They are a good improvement over the factory bulbs. One of the things I liked about these is that they have a lens that helps focus the light going directly back so there is a beam. Not as good as adding additional lighting but they are a nice quick and easy upgrade.
