Anyone have good or bad experiences with undercoating products? I'm planning on lining the rear wheel wells and bed underside with a Duplicolor product when I return home in June. I looked through the Exterior and How To forums and found no topics so I opened this one.

Used 3m myself under the truck everywhere. Makes your frame look better for sure. Just be sure to wear gloves, that stuff gets all over you.

FYI I did no prep work at all. Waited till truck was dry after a carwash and went nuts sprayin everything you could see standing from a distance. Looks much better IMO.

So does the 3M system use a spray gun or come in spray cans? I was researching the Lizzard Skin system and they require a spray gun as well; costs about $80 a gallon. What was the cost of the 3M system?

Ok.. I used the cheap Napa brand stuff once to sound dead the inside of an older vehicle for my sound system. Took forever to dry and get the smell out but once it set that stuff was amazing.

So just mask off the body and go nuts underneath? Anything you want to avoid spraying it on?

AMSOIL has a product that works very well and comes in a 16-oz spray (1-lb) can. It has a yellow waxy film. Check it out.....very reasonably priced

3m comes in cans and sprays right on boys. I didn't tape shit off but my truck ain't brand new like yours AK and I wanted everything black under there. Just cover up anything you don't want sprayed and go nuts.

I've had good luck with the 3m. I used cheap shit on one of my trucks and it didn't last long at all.

So it sounds like you may need to cover up your own self as well whan using 3M or AMSOIL?

If you want it to last make sure you do the prep work. Had my truck undercoated at the dealership and the guy did not scuff anything so when I went to the car wash it peeled it off in the wheel wells, took it back and had them redo it.
