Best Wax ?

Best Wax ?

Postby Mjayco [OP] » Apr 16 2012, 10:05pm

Just piced up the new truck and want to wax it in the next few weeks. What kind of wax has anyone been using and had good luck with it lasting a while. The truck is brand new so I dont think It needs any type of cleaner wax. Thanks.

I've always used Meguiar's on my car.

I bought my truck a bit over a week ago, so I haven't tried anything on it yet.

In my opinion you cannot beat Meguiars! I use it on my 95 and 2010 and they havent looked better. I use everything meguiars from interior to tire and wheels! I would use their cleaner wax cause it will clean any flaws from sitting on the lot and it will look awesome to!

I used to use a product called Zaino Bros. Comes in a kit with different bottles you apply in sequence. Once my Z28 is back on the road I will go back to it...I thought it was great stuff, protected well and gave the wettest look.

For my GMC and Altima, I use the Meguiers...this stuff is pretty hard to beat too...is easy to apply and buff out.

I think you cant really go wrong with any of the products that are out there.

Good luck.

I'll give the Meguiers a try. I special ordered the truck so I got it the day after it was delivered to the dealer. The truck was built on March 24th so I'm not sure if I should let the paint Cure for a few more weeks before waxing it. Thanks for the replies.

I've always used Zymol. Never had any problems, and it stays on for quite a while.

You should be able to wax at any time now.
I also vote for Meguiar's. I have had good results with the Gold Class, and with the NXT. Gold Class is more about shine, and NXT is more about long lasting protection. But I like the shine from the NXT too!

they say wait 60 days on fresh paint before applying wax. but thats just what they say. im also not sure about factory paints if it differs any from a bodyshop painting.
