I couldn't stand the gold bowties on my silverado. Picked up a $5 can of plasti dip and some painters tape from Lowes and went to work yesterday. The process was very easy, just be care carefull when pulling off the tape, have a sharp knife handy, and cover everything to avoid any overspray. I used blankets, not pictured, in addition to the tape. The grill bowtie was the easiest. Popped it off, 3 coats and I was done.
Flat black isn't for everyone, but I like it.

That's exactly what I did. How does it hold up to a car wash?

I screwed up a little bit. I took sandpaper to the chrome. What I discovered is the plasti dip doesn't stick to the chrome portion. It lifted right off.

Don't know if you can see the black in the front because of the brush gaurd.

Thanks, funny you mention the rest of the rattle can... Plasti Dip is addicting. I found myself walking through the garage trying to find something else to spray. Ended up spraying an old "G" packer badge I had on my old buick.

about the sig, thanks again. I know its cheesy, but I try to quote Vince Lombardi whenever possible.

rowdydog,
Your truck looks sharp. the black bowties match great.

I like the ranchhand guard, and the window tint. I think you and I are going to end up with very similar trucks by the time we're done.
I've got a Z85 4x4 wit black nerf bars, and a westin grill hdx guard in mind.

i used Plasti Dip http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.a ... &catid=699 great product you just spray it on and if you do not like it you can just pull it off use about 3 coats and for 7.00 you can’t go wrong. I also did my rims great way to change your truck and not be permanent
