Busting out the black paint

Postby Chasmanian [OP] » Nov 13 2011, 11:36pm

Grabbed a couple cans of black paint today to do a little clean up. The frame was looking a little bad so it was time for a little touch up.

Looks good, something about a can of black paint and crawling around under your truck. Humm, first the diff cover, plenty of paint left, ah might as well do the axle housings too. Yezz , still a bunch of paint left, time to hit the shock mounts. Yep, got more paint, time to hit the leafs and mounts too. Ahh you get the drift. Before long its looks pretty darn good under there, and I just want to lay there and admire my work. Humm, I wonder if I have a can out in the garage still,,

I know how you guys feel...

I just spent the last few evenings under my Silverado with a scraper, wire brush, and a can of Armor Coat.
What a PITA! But it looks awesome now.

Re: Busting out the black paint

Postby Silverado71 » Jun 14 2012, 11:06pm

Hey guys! Just wondering if you could give me some tips on painting/de rusting my frame, I basically spray washed my underbody too much and washed all my oil coat off and now its quickly rusting, I'd like to make it look new again without spending a fortune!

Any tips, or certain products?

Thanks.

get you a wire brush and some rubberized undecoat and get at it. if you have a small angle grinder you can get a wire brush cup for it that will make the job that much easier.
