Camo Wraps for Silverado

Postby skully [OP] » Nov 16 2010, 6:11pm

I was looking at doing a full body wrap on my Chevy with this type of material www.camo4u.com - has anyone tried doing this themselves? Was it hard to do?

Pretty sick looking if you hunt or just like camo. I would be worried about getting all of the air bubbles out and about the paint underneath incase you get sick of it or it fades. I cant even get those darn screen protectors on my phone with out those air pockets. If I did a whole truck the thing would look like bubble wrap. Haha. Cool idea though. Would look sick with some flat black rims.

I am torn between doing a full wrap or just a camo accent on the rocker panels....

Doing just the rockers would look better imo, which is exactly what I will be doing soon. I bought the vinyl from mossy oak but now I just need to find time to actually do it...

Installing wraps, or any type of graphics of any type work best when you follow these basic steps.
Make certain that the temperature of the surfaces is at correct level, usually between 55 - 80 degrees F.

Make certain area to be worked on is clean, and free of any things which would cause problems with adhesion to surface, or unwanted irregularities with finished product installation. Wipe area with a solvent which will leave it clean, and free of any residue.

Most wraps or graphics can be installed "wet" with either water, or glass cleaner sprayed on the panel underneath the graphic, and then using a small hand held squeegee, you can smooth it out from the center to outside edges to remove "air bubbles" or any other irregularities with the object being installed.

Take your time, follow the directions, and you should be fine with the installation.

Hope this helps.
