"guards" on the sides of the truck, not sure what they're called

Can this be removed somehow?

Postby carsonhowe22 [OP] » Dec 14 2011, 4:50am

I'm wanting to remove these from my truck. I have seen other trucks of my body style without them, so I assume it can be done. If so, how could I go about doing it? Are they on with adhesive like the badges or what?

Yep, held on the same exact way. A lot harder to get off because of size.

So I could maybe take some fishing line and adhesive remover and it would be fine?

Not hard to get off at all. Heat em up a tad and peel off slowly. Use a 3M eraser wheel to get the leftover adhesive off. I just lifted the corner up with my hands and peeled slowly. No biggie on any of my trucks.

There is a nicely written "How To" on this already. Please see the attached link:

I did mine when I got my truck new, so it may not work as easily if it's got some age on it. I just got one end started and they pulled right off. Nothing was left behind either.
