Cut in rockers courtesy of the dealership

Postby CanadaDry [OP] » Aug 05 2012, 12:09am

Hi guys, I just finished detailing my truck and I found a nice cut in my rocker that was obviously caused by the person who installed my mud flaps at the dealership (pic below). Just wondering if I am being uptight about this or is it expected that I complain to the dealer about it? I have only had the truck for 3 months and I am trying to keep this thing looking good. What do you guys think, am I being that guy? I will post pics of the 3 hour detailing when I get back from the gym:-)

I wanna know how that happens when installing mud flaps. I dont think you are being "that guy", you paid a lot of money for you truck and wanna keep it looking nice, depending on how long ago they were installed I dont think there is much you can do with the dealership fixing it.

What you were seeing was a shot from the ground up. Also I have 3M dura guard on my lower door pannels so it kinda throws the eye off :D Here is a better pic. I think the guy was obviously just trying to hammer them in and put the screw right through the bottom of the pannel. I am going to talk to them for sure, the more I look at it the more choked I am.

Depending on the dealer and that the sale was 3 months ago... It might not turn out in your favor, but good luck anyways. I love hearing about people getting the upperhand on dealerships.

That is unacceptable and you should have them repair it. No reason to have damage like that. It's quite obvious whoever installed them has no business touching a vehicle.

You can also clearly see they are not installed properly from that picture. That black you see should be where it lines up with the curve and bottom of the panel.....Take it back.
