DeeZee Tailgate Assist Issues ?

Hey all, wanting to spring on this useful mod, but heard the part number 43101 (NNBS) tailgate assist has some fitment issues and piston problems. Anyone using this product? if so, any problems ?

I have contacted the company to get one for my 2011 Sierra, but they told me they were redesigning the product and it would be coming out end of 2011-early 2012

Probably because of some fitment issues
