I had the dealer spray a liner in my truck as a part of the original deal. I had an over the rail job done on my truck in a gray color to match the paint. I like the way it looks and don't have to worry about scratching the top of the rail when I load stuff. Image

So an update: My liner which I wanted to return, from Dual Liner, because it wasn't perfectly form fit for my 3500 Long Bed Silverado would cost me 200 to ship back through UPS, with the shipper being responsible for all return shipping fees. They wouldn't view it as defective, and as such subject to a 15% restocking fee, and I would be keeping the mat for 80 or so dollars, plus to avoid shipping costs. In all, after all the returns are done and refunds given, out of my 370 spent, I would get maybe.. MAYBE 40 dollars back plus the 80 dollar mat. I highly, HIGHLY recommend avoiding dual liner unless you are absolutely, 100% in love with the idea they have and want to potentially get something which may not be an exact form fit for your truck.

Why have a money back guarantee if you have to pay to send it back to them??? That makes no sense at all?!? obviously when we buy anything as a consumer we have a purpose to our purchases so if we aren’t happy with the product, if it does not meet the need (purpose) for which we originally decided to buy their product then maybe they should put more effort in finding out why their product (which they created, marketed, and sold to consumers) didn’t meet their target markets needs, instead of making the consumer PAY to send it back to them… this is how they make a LIVING! Pissing off their consumer base by sticking them with merchandise that they don’t like, don’t want, and will replace with something better; only gives the business a black eye that will be shown every time that consumer (YOU) brings up the topic (RIGHT NOW) of either bad service or faulty materials.

I hate to get on a soap box here but good merchandise may make the 1st sell… GOOD SERVICE is what makes the 2nd, 3rd, and so forth. I have bought good products and services before from businesses that I will not buy from again due to service.

Sorry for the long reply but this really gets under my skin.

I also have the Line-X Premium that extends over the rail. They put it on extra thick too.. It came with a free, fitted 3/8" rubber mat. I love it, cause I don't have to worry either way (gravel or drive-in). If I do gravel, it goes right on the mat, and unloading is a breeze. Just push off the bulk and pull the mat out, gets most of it then sweep. I pull my mat out a couple times a year to clean and prevent wear, but honestly don't think that I realy need to, with the spray-in liner.

Sorry to hear of your problems Scott. I'd call back and ask for a manager. If they sent you the wrong piece, they are required to cover all return charges. Especially if it was sold as custom fit. If ti doesn't fit, it's not your fault. Be sure to contact the Better Business Bureau, they will also try to contact Dual-Liner. If DL fails to respond, they get a negative hit on their record.

I used this tacttic recently when I bought a laptop. I open the box, and 4 keys fell off the keyboard. At first, I was subject to retunring the laptop and some "free" accessories, and pay a 15% restock fee. I mentioned the BBB, and the next day I had 4 pre-paid return labels in my email. I can't guarantee this for you, but it may help. This sounds like a truly bonfide case of rotting B.S.

And just one other thing, I looked at their compare chart, and I picked out at least 3-4 false statements...

I'll definitely look into that. It's past the 30 day return policy but based on the fact that I did in fact contact them originally for a refund within it, that I'm okay in attempting a further attempt to return it. Thanks for the advice. On the upside... I love my LineX liner in conjunction with the rubber floor mat I have. Makes the truck look super snazzy and way more rugged :)

I bought my truck in late September of 2005.. I had the bed sprayed within weeks. Would never look back on it. Onyx is the brand I got, but I say they are all the same. Rugged, grippy, durable. Mine has faded very slightly, but it's still black.

I plan to get the Premium White Line-X done next month with a thick rubber mat covering the floor, right now the only thing I have had in the bed is milk and 6 2x4s with a THICK comforter around them. The only thing I haven't decided on is weather I want to do over the rail or not. I also want to see how much more they would charge me to do the rear wheel wells and the bottom of the rockers that constantly get beat up by rocks.

Russ, where in Upstate NY are you from and what year rev is that?

My vote is for a line-x also. I had one within a couple weeks of getting my truck. Yeah it is a little unsettling hearing them sand a brand new truck but I knew it would be better with it. I couldn't have asked for mine to turn out any better either. I got an over the rail one and not one complaint yet.

Line-X is an awesome liner; howerver, if you're not sold and don't really want to spend that amount of money, the Bed Rug is a good choice. I read the post with the concerns of the 5 pieces. Don't worry about that, not much gets under it through those zippers. If you get anything under the liner it's going to be from the top. Then again, that was in my Stepside, the liner didn't have a rail to tuck under. If you have a rail that it's going to tuck under than nothing is going to get in it. I had a Bed Rug in my 2003 Silverado Sport Side. I bought it not long after I got the truck and it was a perfect fit, looked good, and was extremely durable. It ripped once, 5 years after getting it and it wasn't because of a load, it was from a fork lift operator scraping into the bed (this probably would have screwed up a line-X liner too). Most will say that Line-X would have repaired it for free, well Bed Rug did the same. Since it was foam, it kind of sealed itself enough to not let anything in after the tear was done. Two years after that tear, I conctacted them and told them about it. They paid for UPS to pick it up and ship it back to them and then they sent me a new one, all I had to do was box it up. Keep in mind, this was 7 years after I bought it. Bed Rug has a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser and when I tested it, they honored it and came through with flying colors, no questions asked. I can't comment on the Bed Tred because I don't have one of those but if it's the same thing as the Bed Rug with a different surface, then it is a good product (I do think I remember hearing some reviews saying that the fitment wasn't as good as the Bed Rug). I loaded lumber, dry wall, beds full of firewood, propane tanks, barrels, and pallets of bricks on the Bed Rug with never a problem. When I replaced the torn one with the new replacement, the bed looked like the day I drove it off the lot. The foam under the liner is formed to the ridges in the bed so it's hard for something to actually get in there, it's not a flat surface laying on a ridged surface like a drop in or a mat. Oh, and I use my truck to haul stuff too but let me tell ya, that foam cushioning is AWESOME! There are times that I have to kneel down to get a good grip on something to move it out or to load something in a better stack (firewood), and it really makes it easier on the knees. I have bad knees so maybe I'm a little biased on that part. I have used it to sleep on during camping trips too, and it's a lot easier not having to pack extra padding and stuff for that bed. It sweeps clean and pressure washes clean, IMO if you don't want to spend the full money for the Line-X, the Bed Rug is the best bang for your buck.

I have a GM Drop in on my 2012 Sierra because I didn't have the money to get another Bed Rug at the time. I don't mind it but it is scratching the hell out of my bed. As soon as the finances can allow, I'm getting another Bed Rug. If I had stupid money, I'd get the Line-X and then still top it with a Bed Rug or the Bed Rug Mat.... you know, for the cushion on my old beat up knees.
