electric mirrors

reverse option

electric mirrors

Postby clarke [OP] » Jan 28 2012, 5:00pm

I recently purchased 2011 silverado 4x4 ext cab 8' box. I have mirrors set up for travelling. But was wondering if anybody has the option when in reverse the right mirror automatlically drops down for better vislibilty rather than adjusting the mirror most of the time. Is this a good option and worth while having?
thanks clarke

I don't have that option on mine, but my dad's does and I have a friend who has it. They both turned theirs off because they don't like the delay of the movement.. I've driven my dad's truck numerous times and I didn't care for it either. Now, the mirrors that fold in automatically is a great idea to me! I wish I had those...

Same here. I have that option (I think it's selectable via the DIC). I turned it off right away. I think the OEM mirrors are great, and I can see fine -- maybe even better -- without having it drop down.

I have the reserve 'drop down' feature and I feel like they drop down too low...you're basically looking at the ground by the rear wheel when they get in position...which doesn't really allow you to see where you're going...not to mention, if you were pulling a trailer...
