I have a 2006 GMC sierra WT, and There are 2 separate bars that go From under the driver and passenger side of the truck to the middle frame piece under the motor. They are rusted through. I can't figure out what There called?? So I can replace them. Thanks.
Sorry, I didn't see the through part. Not sure what they are. Go on gmpartsdirect or something where you can see the parts diagram and get a name for the part, then go on rock auto.
Hi i have a 2006 Silverado, i have the same problem same bars and not a clue to what they are called to replace them. I was wondering if you figured it out, im assuming its a junk yard part Thank you
They are called frame support braces I'm pretty sure. I had the same problem, they were rusted through. The dealership wanted $140 a piece so I made my own out of metal tubing... Pinched the ends and drilled a couple holes + some paint and it only cost me about $20 for both including the paint.
Here is a topic that has some information on the subject. Rusty Frame
Thanks for replying, i think ill look around at a junk yard
