I was just going to add my .02 When I bought my truck (used) I didn't notice that mine was missing. I was comparing my '08 to my buddy's '09 when I noticed it. I actually like the look without it. The only thing I have noticed was once I was driving home on the highway at 60-65 mph during a really bad snowstorm and when I pulled into my garage I noticed steam pouring out from under the hood. When I opened her up there was snow everywhere in the engine compartment. Just jammed in all the nooks and crannies. Really made me wonder if that air dam would have diverted the snow down and away from the engine bay instead of letting it roll up underneath.

2010 Silverado manual chapter 5 page 12:
Notice: Operating your vehicle for extended periods without the front facia lower air dam installed can cause improper air flow to the engine. always be sure to replace the front facia air dam when you are finished off-road driving.

But if you need to remove the damn thing, upgrade your engine fans.

If you have electric fans this will not affect you, it is there to draw air up with mechanical fans and up into the fan shroud. With electric fans they are mounted up against the rad and dont require air deflected up into them.

I took mine off after scraping a curb that my wife's '10 Outback clears. She laughed at me... no more air dam. It is still in my garage and if I take the truck on a lengthy road trip, I will re-install it (then promptly remove it when I return).

2 screws (one on each side) and a bunch of plastic clips is all it takes. Surprised the thing doesn't fall off at ~90mph.

IMHO, the truck looks better without it.

Do you have a picture of it with it off? I was thinking of doing the same because of snow clearance but thought it might look funny on a new truck.
