HID headlight questions

Postby Ruttin'Hard [OP] » Jun 17 2012, 5:12pm

So i'm thinking i want to upgrade to HIDs... either 5k or 6k. I don't want to end up with some cheap junk, so I'm hesitant to buy off ebay. I also eventually would like to change my head lights from stockers to black while still running HIDs... so my question is where can i get a quality set and do they sell high beam, low beam, and fog light kits?

Yes, I bought mine from our site sponsor, HIDguy.com. I highly recommend the 5,000k lights.

I had 6K HID's and I wish I would've went with 5K looking back. They are a little bit brighter and more of a white light, the 6K were a little too blue for my liking.

Want to support the site and get quality? http://www.hidguy.net

Want to save some money and get quality? http://www.ddmtuning.com

And I recommend 35W 5000k for your lowbeams, digital ballasts. Depending on if you have a NBS or NNBS will determine what you put in your foglights, if anything at all.

NBS, I recommend the same as lowbeams, 35W 5000k, digital ballasts.
NNBS, I recommend 25W 5000k from HIDGuy.

+1 what mouse said.
I have the ddm tuning 35w lows and 35w fogs. Went with 6k and they are on the blue side, but are nice and bright.
It did take about 2 weeks to receive them straight from china but there the same digital slim ballasts that everyone else sells, without a mark up.

Those digital ballasts from HIDguy.net are probably one of the best sets of HID's I've had. I've owned DDMtuning and Xentec and once I installed an HIDguy.net kit the lights were perfect. No more flickering and no color change

Color change comes from the quality of bulbs, not the ballast.

Re: HID headlight questions

Postby rgblack316 » Jun 28 2012, 11:45am

I just went and priced them on the site. Currently $320.00 plus shipping for all three conversion kits. Not a bad deal.

I do have a question though. Would there be any reason I would need the 5202 plug and play harness with the fog light kit?
