HID Install 2011 Silverado

HID Install 2011 Silverado

Postby KsansingNOLA [OP] » Sep 02 2011, 4:18am

I finally received my package after 2 weeks from Krypton. I had actually forgot about them until they arrived today.

I installed the 35W 6000K in my low beams and also Silverstar Ultras in my highbeams.

I also have the 6000K HID kit for my fogs which I havent installed yet.

Pictures below. Not the best quality because from my Iphone. But 1 is with just the HID's and the other is with both the HID's and Silverstars on.

This picture shows the 6000K color a little better. Loving these.

I mounted the Drivers side ballast by zip tie to the inside of the fender. I mounted the passengers side ballast below the air filter box.

Looks good, how do the lights match between the HID's and the Ultras? Looks good in the pics

When the high beams are on and your up close you can definitely see more yellow in the Silverstar Ultras. From far away though, like in the pictures, the colors blend together pretty well.

Looks great. Make sure you verify the alignment of the lights, so you don't blind people too badly.
I tucked my ballasts in a similar way.

I ordered the exact same setup. I have to wait til tomorrow evening when I get in from the road to install mine. After giving up on ever receiving my Kryptons I ordered another set of HIDs from HIDMonster on ebay with 8000K 35W bulbs. Im gonna try them both out and keep the one I like best.

Was the install straight forward. Did you have to remove anything to get to the bulbs? Did you use relay harness?

Thanks!!

Installed the HID Fogs today. Finding a mounting location was a pain in the ass but zip ties came in handy. After running the lights tonight; I would say the HID's in the lows and fogs on at the same time provide plenty of light and an awesome look. When I turn the Fog's on it seems like there is double the amount of light. I love it.

OP, looks good. The double shot with the HIDs and high-beam SS's is insanely bright! Imagine when you have all 3 powered up at once...
