Inner rear fender gaurds, well gaurds not present

Inner rear fender gaurds, well gaurds not present

Postby vandenbusschebr [OP] » Mar 29 2011, 4:51am

Hey guys,

After I brought my truck home noticed that the inner part of the rear wheel wells looked really bad and thought about spraying it black. Then found out that there are actually black well gaurds to go in there. My question is if these guards come stock and the previous owner removed them? or are they only aftermarket?

Anyone know a good place to get them?
Are the silverado ones interchangeable?

thanks

They are an accessory. They came as part of my All Terrain package, but they are not on all trucks. But, they are available from your dealer. I have not checked to see if aftermarket ones are available.
Personally, I cannot believe GM would not include these as standard equipment.

Last I looked they were on sale at GMpartsdirect.com yep http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cf ... r=19166677

My truck came with them too I like having them. I was going to Line-X the wheel wells on my last truck but never got around to getting it done. My Line-X dealer quoted me $200.00 to do both rear wheel wells.

^^ $79.99 seems like a fair price for these. I think I would do that, over $200 for Line-X. Thanks for the link.

Mine does not have them either. When i asked the guy i work out with who is a insurance adjuster/ body shop man he said they stopped installing them due to finding that mud and gunk would get in behind them and cause the fenders to rust out faster. So with all of the new under coating systems they decided to leave them out on most models. Personaly i think they look better installed as well. May have to go look at that website too.

When I bought my 2004, I thought the same thing. Ugly rear fender wells. Well, over time............I kinda got used to it. I have thought about the line x route also but didn't ask the price. Can somebody who has had that done, please post some pictures? Thanks.

Anyone looking for wheel house liners, that link that ex-150 owner posted is really a good deal. I paid $120 at my local dealership. Gurrr, I knew I should of shopped online. As for mud and gunk getting behind them. I have to disagree. I installed mine and they were a TIGHT fit. It was a mother getting them snapped in there. FOURDOGS has a good point. Maybe a can of undercoating up under there for alittle added protection, then the liner. My liners have been my best mod because it got rid of that unfinished looking void under there.
