Installed Roll pan this past weekend

Postby texas_born [OP] » Jan 25 2012, 1:17am

My pops and I put on my freshly painted roll pan. Just wanted to share. Does anyone else have roll pan?

Nice. I saw a NBS Silverado the other week with a roll pan but that's the only one I've ever seen. It was dark out so it was hard to see how it really looked. Haven't seen many others, though...seems to be more of a 'street truck' mod.

Looks good. Did you go with a metal one? I used to be big to the mini truck thing with my s10s I used to have and I had a roll pan on one. It was FBI brand with the frenched in plate at an angle in the middle. I love the look of lowered trucks but the ride quality really sucks. Unless you have a bagged setup. Im guessing you have a 5-6 drop on yours?

Im always worried about being rear ended at all times. I cant drive a car or truck without a rear view mirror, it drives me nuts without one or a broken one. yeah its a steel roll pan. thats the way to go. I wanted to weld it and mold it to the fenders but i dont have money to repaint the whole backend. its a 4/6 drop but it kind of "saggs" in the back and i dont like it. I want to go up 1" in the rear.

Try throwing a 1" block in the rear or maybe get some air shocks to help with the little bit of sag your talking about.

yeah we though about blocks but it has a flip kit and I dont trust blocks that much, plus I dont think that will work. Mcgaughys makes a "gm short shackle" that will give me the 1". we may try that i just havent called them yet to verify.

Looks real good. Does it mount the same way up to the frame rails like the bumper does, with brackets?

no it came with 5 screws to screw it into the bed. Or you can weld it in to make it look seamless.

Looks good man. I was thinking about getting one for mine but I think I'm just going to get my stock bumper powdercoated.
