Most dealerships, at least from what I've seen here in Arizona, have a car wash system on site. I watched my truck go through detail. Goes through the wash and it's not brushless.

I heard also they come off the train, on to a truck.. to the dealer and prep cleans them the same way. Then again at detail. (Hand washes in between by outside company that power washes and dries them).

So, you're OK! Just I wouldn't wax it. Being a white truck it won't hurt as much, but I'll try to go to touchless only.

Honestly,it would be cheaper to just buy a bottle of car wash and do it yourself. I have not been through a touchless that has completely cleaned my truck never been satisfied. For the same price of one Ultimate Car wash you can buy a bottle of wash, buy the wax and get almost everything you need for the interior that will last you a while. I feel the same way about working on my truck as I do washing it. If you want it done right do it yourself. The girlfriend might be mad that you spend 5 hours cleaning your truck but doesnt it feel good to sit and look at it the rest of the day. Yes I have a sexual attraction to my truck.

Josh,
I hear ya on doing it yourself. When I was on duty at the firehouse I would detail wash and wax all my stuff. I am no longer on the department and remember its really cold in the northland. we gotta have some way of cleaning the road salt off the truck in the winter....it gonna be a car wash...no other way. Dude our lakes still are covered with ice!

I agree that no automatic wash can possibly take the place of a good hand wash. I do every nook, cranny, and crevice on the truck. I even scrub the wheel wells, and wipe them down with a little black magic tire shine. No use washing your truck, and leaving a bunch of dirt and grime in the wheel wells.
I don't know about "sexual attraction" to a truck, though....hummm...

I hear you, lanningjw! I get a car wash about once a week in the winter (and wash it by hand once a week in the summer). All that salt is just rotten for trucks... my truck never saw any salt before this year, so it really sucks to see rust starting to form.

Dont get me wrong there are sometimes when I cant stand to look at my truck and take it through a touchless but like I said never satisfied. I am a Fire Fighter as well theres nothing better than pulling a truck out and rolling in the silverado and doing a nice deep clean.

Definitely....in winter, with all the salt, a car wash is better than nothing....for sure!

The only salt I see is from the Gulf, still bad but havent experienced anything like you guys. South Alabama doesnt get that bad but I also work for a police department and if we had to put salt on the road because of ice I would probably quit, so I wouldnt have to deal with people not knowing how to drive.

Personally, I dont use the auto wash places. Either driveway or self wash bays. We have a wash here locally you can close the doors and its only a buck per wash. Great deal in the winter. I have waxed my 11 , 3 times allready. Clear coat was cured when it rolled out of the factory. So grab you some good was and sit back and enjoy the shine,,, 8-)
