LED light strip issue

Postby JORADO22 [OP] » Feb 04 2012, 12:17am

So I recently installed the LED lights that go across under the tailgate. They look really sweet but I have seen alot of these strips that have some of the little lights burned out. Does anyone know what causes this and how I can prevent mine from messing up?

Another thing is water getting in there, I had a recon strip and it got water in it right after the warranty expired so I was up the creek. I bought a cheaper one and siliconed it all around so it was watertight. But if a bulb goes after a while theres nothing really you can do to prevent it except for the silicone deal. If one goes bad you can just take the strip out of the housing and re-solder a new led on there.
