Leveling Kit Installation Cost

Leveling Kit Installation Cost

Postby GatorsGat52 [OP] » Jul 03 2012, 3:46pm

I just returned from my deployment and I am ready to resume modifying. I bought a ReadyLift 2.25 Leveling Kit that I don't think I have the skillset or tools to instal myself, so I went to my local mom-n-pop auto shop to get a quote on installation. For labor, the fellow said it would be $200 even... Does that sound reasonable to you all? I know a lot of people prefer to instal mods themselves, but I'm sure there are others out there who have just paid the professionals to do the work.

Nah, I doubt it is. If it were included, I would just handed him the keys and walked home before he changed his mind.

Average cost of allignment-$80. Average time to install your level kit= 2 hrs in the driveway with basic tools. Find a buddy with some basic tools and buy him beer. Look online and you will get step by step instructions.

Thanks for your service. Salute to you. :D
Maybe check a couple more shops in your area too. Labor in our area is around $75 per hour for shop work. Might be alittle higher in your area though. If he knows what hes doing and has a good set up shop , he should be able to do the job in about 1 hour or so.
Dont forget to post a few pics after the intall. ;)

Re: Leveling Kit Installation Cost

I have a Black 2009 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab and was thinking of installing a leveling kit. I have the 20" wheels and wasn't planning on putting taller tires on it so am wondering if the front end will look weird with too much space in the wheel wells. Anyone out there install one without putting bigger tires on it??

Many people do, and it looks fine. Check the suspension section for pics.

Agree, the truck stance looks great, but to me it looks like Oreo cookies on rims without some beefier tires.
