My Truck

Postby Luke300zx [OP] » Jan 16 2012, 3:33am

I've never shown any pictures of my truck because I wanted to wait until I finished repairing the damage from my minor fender bender right after I first bought it. So now that it's fixed and I have done some things to it. Here are some pictures! I'd like to know your guy's opinions.

Thanks guys! I want to do a lift next but I keep getting mixed feedback. In my Z deciding on what to do was easy, i just threw on coilovers and dropped it a few inches for handling purposes. I'm not a big fan of dropping trucks and want to lift mine but don't know what to go with. I'd like a 6 inch with 35" tires. My wife thinks I should just do a level kit (2.5"?) with my torsion bars and a block in the back but I've heard a different things. One person says the torsion keys are bad because it puts to much stress on other components but then the other guy says the 6" lift is to expensive for what it does and is bad for your driveshafts. Anyone have any input?

Yeah parrothead looks good. I might go with a leveling kit. Which brand did you go with?

I currently own my first Silverado... well, technically I owned a 1983 Chevy C10 that had the Silverado package back when Silverado was just a list of features. Anyway...

I personally think the look of a leveled Silvy is about as sexy as it gets. For trucks. :D My two cents would be to do the 2" leveling kit in the front and don't put any blocks in the back. If you want to do a level, I wouldn't advise putting any type of lift in the back because then it won't be level, so the blocks has never made any sense to me.

I have heard almost no complaints about a leveling kit damaging critical components in the truck. 6" lifts on the other hand? Absolutely.

The leveling kit you are going to pay around $300-400 to install. The lift will cost you thousands and, in my opinion, make your truck look worse, perform worse, and get poorer gas mileage.

With a leveling kit you can still fit 33's which are a pretty beefy tire.

Just my $0.02 :geek:
