New Kobalt tool box

Postby ant_mb [OP] » May 20 2012, 10:57pm

Finally got tired of storing anything and everything in the cab so I took a trip to Lowe’s and picked up a new tool box. I went with the slim design as I won’t be storing all that much, and I think it looks better on the truck. I went ahead and picked up a no drill clamp system they had so I wouldn’t have to ruin my bed rail protectors with holes. Here are a couple pics.

Here is how the no drill system looks. Holds things tight and is out of sight.

Image

The box came pre-drilled with the correct spacing for the brackets. Our trucks can only use one bracket per side(the bed flares out at the cab), so I chose to drill holes in the center to keep the holding pressure centered.

I do! Especially with a quad and a motorcycle that I haul around regularly. With the quad I can still shut the tailgate, but the bike needs it open, a bed extender is on its way.

Good looking tool box! I just got a new one, sits in the bed of the truck but was really debating getting the kobalt low profile.

Then the no drill tool box was a good option...looks pretty easy to remove if necessary.

You can actually make any box a no drill. Just buy the kit and your set.
