New truck, new stuff...

Postby ramu3527 [OP] » Jul 21 2010, 10:02pm

Ok, just picked up an '08 GMC Sierra SLT Crew with 4WD and the All Terrain. I need some stuff and was looking for some thoughts on it.

Bedliner...I want an under the rail liner. I want quality. I had a duraliner in my last truck (2000 F150) and it is still in pretty good shape. I was looking at the FX Trail and the Rugged liner. Any luck or bad luck with them? I want something that's going to stay flat not warp on me.

Nerf Bars...GM has some really sweet ones. They are kinda like a oval but more flat and square. I think they look really good but are they good quality? I saw the Iron Cross brand is made in the USA. Anyone have those? They are kinda like the GM ones. Here's a link if I can do that or you can cut and paste.
http://www.ironcrossautomotive.com/ende ... eavour.htm

One last thing. Anybody put on those rear wheel-well liners in? My truck is silver and would look much better with them in as to match the front. anybody, anybody?

Thanks in advance folks.

I haven't seen the Iron Cross Endeavour bars in person but I have seen their standard tube steps. The bulk of the truck upfits we do at work are for gas/oilfield customers and they seem to hold up pretty well (we use the black powder coat version for those guys). We also use them because like you say, they are made in the USA and our backyard...Sapulpa (Tulsa), OK.

FYI, in case you don't already know about it...you can cut out some of the dealer markup and buy the GM bars direct: http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?singlepart=1&AddPartNumber=20919889&partnumber=20919889

I personally like the Linex liner. I hated my rhino liner peeled too easily. As for nerf bars, i would just go to a local shop and see what they offer in oval bars. Good luck on your search and research, make sure to pass any info on that you may feel we need to know
Crap, my hampster fell off the wheel and it broke its leg.

I have a linex and i love it! As for the nerf bars, i personally just ordered a set made by steelcraft. They are 4" straight oval nerf bars. I just hope they look good on my truck, im pretty sure they will, i just cant wait to see them on there.

yesterday i installed wheel liner package- $76.23
rail protectors $83.93
bed liner package $177.10
DIC switches and panel $77.00
anybody you know work at a gm dealership? these parts a 10% over cost. it beats any web site.. if you get snow, wheel liners are a must IMO. the bed liner is fastened with stepped sheet screw which allow the bed liner to expand/contract with the weather.
good luck hunting..

I personally like the line x bedliner, it just seems to make the bed stronger, and no warping. I noticed you have'nt posted about what step bars you got, and if not, may I suggest th Aries 4" ovals. I've had these on my '09 for about a year now, and they have held up great, and are at a great price too. BEWARE, a buddy of mine works at an accessory shop, and he showed me some of the other brands of ovals, and they are actually made with a steel frame and a plastic chrome coated outer shell. I beleive the OEM bars are this way also. The Aries ovals are solid end to end step, only part being plastic is the actual steps. They are a straight step with a slight turn at each end that does not go all the way up under the truck. I wish I could show pics of mine, but can't right now.
