Lookin' good! After driving around in super thick fog at 4:00 this morning, I discovered that brighter lights might be beneficial- what's the cost for upgrading the lights on your truck?

It was just shy of $400.

Jon, I should have showed you mine when you were here. I paid about $60 for the krypton's (a little more, because I did the harness, too). If you decide to do them, let me know if you want help installing them. I'd be happy to help!

Hey, that's an idea I might just file away, Eric. I probably won't touch my lights until I get ready for next winter's plowing season. I'm thinking of getting some semi-truck style lights for the roof, plus changing out the stock lights for something brighter. Hopefully we can make something happen then...

Projector, HID, LED tail light upgrade

Postby Jrluz14 » Feb 18 2011, 1:12pm

I just ordered all new lights for mine too. HIDs, LED drl, LED tails and third and LED reverse bulbs. Can't wait to get them. I got the DDM Tuning HID kit (nothing but good reviews) and it cost just shy of $60 shipped. Got them in the mail quick and installed in about 20 minutes and they are the best upgrade I've done, I can literally light up signs 3/4 to 1 mile away. Make sure to adjust the height of the beam so that you don't piss off oncoming traffic. I got flashed about 6 times within an hour of having my HIDs until I adjusted them down last night.

Aiming is the key. I aimed mine a couple days after getting them, and it's rare that I get flashed.

ok I cant figure out how to update/edit my first post, but here are the tail lights installed. Literally took 10 minutes. The new lights came pre-wire to plug into the factory harness. I did have to re-use the backup light bulb because I did not order LED replacements.

now for the head lights. The housings fit in perfect. However, it took quite a bit of trimming to get the HID bulb to fit.
Took the unused plug from the HID and spliced into the running lights to power the halos

That's a great night look. Well done! How do you like the light quality? I had heard another member say he did not like his projectors. Let us know if you are happy with the results. I really like the look of the halo's.
