Rear Chevy Emblem Flaking

Postby farside1 [OP] » Jan 17 2011, 7:07pm

I can't believe this! First the seam on the back seat and now the rear emblem appears to have the paint flaking off UNDER the plastic????

Can someone please tell me how in the h*ll that is happening! I'm really beginning to doubt chevy quality control at this point.

So far it's just been cosmetic stuff, but COME ON! I hope the more expensive parts last longer than this. Like the engine and transmission. I'm beginning to worry though. I am glad I bought that extended warranty.

Those dark spots in the picture are not shadows!

Got my truck a 2011 in November and my emblem is much worse.
I'm just going to take it off. Does make you wonder though.

Mine's the same too... If mine was still IN warranty I would ask them to replace it, BUT not install it. I would sell it on Ebay and just leave the truck unbadged.
I'm gonna remove all my badging and either go with the carbon fiber badging or maybe just leave it unbadged. I'm waiting to see a few more examples.

I think it is all bowties across the line. My wifes 2008 Trailblazer SS also have the gold flaking off. I just pulled the plastic cover off, cleaned all the gold from it and it looked chrome. It looked much better than the cheap gold look IMO.
