Rusted rear bumper bolts

Rusted rear bumper bolts

Postby sstumpf [OP] » Oct 30 2013, 3:14am

I am getting my new rear bumper in tomorrow, so I tried to start getting the old one off tonight. Well i got nowhere. All the bolts are completely Rusted. I tried using pb blaster, cheater bar. Got nowhere. So any tricks to get this off? Or am I going to have to take it to someone that has the right tools for the job? I will be buying all new bolts and nuts when I go to put the new bumper on.

A little heat goes a long way, but you have to be careful and not burn the truck down.

No I don't have an air impact, just a electric. Only thing about that is the 4 of the nuts are kind of hard to reach.

Might try a little heat on them, lol, can't be burning the truck down.

Ok, I'll see if I can bust them loose with some heat.
