My 2011 Regular Cab has the same issue. In certain light it looks like there is more black in the silver metallic. I usually only see it in the garage. I don't see it in the sun so I guess there is nothing to do about it. I have noticed it on the front right fender and passenger door. I guess I should look on both sides. I had to have my tailgate repainted just two weeks ago because of trash in the clear coat. It was warranty; however, I was hoping to not have any paint work done on this vehicle. I think every vehicle I've owned has had some kind of paint work. I'm just really picky about chips, dings, and scratches. Anyway, I'm glad to know others have this problem too. I thought it was just my imagination. It is a mass produced vehicle- not a Bentley!

Update to the paint issue. My truck is no longer Silver Ice Mettallic. It is now Summit White. GM traded me out of it and I chose to go white. While the other Silvers on the lot were not as bad they still had the same issue. I've yet to find the same issue on any other Silver Metallic vehicle, including other GM's. The all look a smooth solid same color and darkness. I park next to a Caddy SRX of same color and it's perfect. Of course all the Silvers on the dealers lot came out of Ranoeke, IN within a week of each other so maybe that plays in a bit.

White and Silver were pretty equal top choices for me so I'm just as happy with White now. The wife is the one who swayed my to Silver from white the first go around. I just felt I would never get past the blocthiness issue on the Silver and it would bug me to death and since both the dealer and GM did a great customer service gesture for a long time GM guy I decided to fall back to white to save all of us future grief.

While it's unfortunate I went through this GM did me right without even a fight so I commend them for that. Everything is exactly the same to the penny on my new one expect I had the rear well lines added.

had that issue with my camaro as well. its cause the different material on the different body panels show the paint different

CONGRATS on a white truck! Obviously I am biased, but you made the better choice!

These trucks are only built in 2 plants. Ft. Wayne, and Silao, Mexico. Mine is from Mexico.

The Ft. Wayne plant is on the Southwest side of town, and is sometimes referred to as Roanoke, as that is a suburb of Ft. Wayne.

The more I look at this white truck the more I wonder why I let my wife influence my decision the first time. It sure looks awful nice in white with my black bed cover and rail protectors as well as the gm 6" steps.

Black bed cover, rail protectors and 6" steps!?!?! Our trucks must be identical! Pictures, please....

Dang I with they would have put raised white letter tires on mine! I like the sportier look! VERY nice!
