Installing towing mirrors is sooo easy anyone can do it themselves. All u have to do is pop off the triangular panel on the inside & take the 3 nuts off. The wires are plug in type. It's literally that easy.

On the NBS yes thats it. on the NNBS you gotta remove the door panel to get to the one nut and the wiring.

I purchased this style with harnesses online for $709.35. I worked a deal with the dealer I purchased the truck from to install them for free. Worked out great for me.

So, the install guy told me I would have to have a Chevy dealer do a computer reprogram to have the LEDs on the mirrors work. Dealer I called this morning says there is no reprogramming he can do. He says he would have to research the mirrors I bought, and figure something out.

Here's the ones I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/282069493696?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

The truck is a '16 Silverado LT, with DL8 (non-powerfold, power adjusting and heated mirrors).

Can anyone tell me if need harnesses, or a smarter dealer, or just to come visit one of you guys and get it straightened out?

Thanks!

Not sure if this answer is going to help or not. My truck started out with the original DL8 mirrors also. Those mirrors were just power heated mirrors. The new upgraded GM mirrors I purchased are power heated with additional side marker, turn signal and back up lighting. For these mirrors I needed to purchase new harnesses and have the mirrors calibrated by the dealer. Since your mirrors are not GM I'm not sure what you need to do. You may need to contact the mirror manufacturer for your answer.

I'm looking on eBay getting ready to order some towing mirrors, wanted to stay about 100 - 125 range. Does anyone have any luck with a vendor on there that sells them that the glass or mirror doesn't shake around a lot

Re: Tow Mirrors FAQs

Postby Fvsurfer1 » Aug 22 2016, 9:54pm

Im new to the forum. I have a 2015 Silverado LT with DL8 mirrors. I installed some 2500 HD sierra black factory towing mirrors I bought off EBAY. Only adjustment I had to make was drill a 4th hole to attach the mirror. The mirrors plugged right into my existing plug and I have power adjust. My question is, if I buy a harness on eBay thats made for my truck will I get the turn signal, running lights and back up light to work with that harness? Is there anything else I need to do?
