Vent Visors - in channel or out?

Postby uneasyrider [OP] » Jun 17 2011, 5:25pm

Black leather interior and I live in Florida so I am thinking about some vent visors. I am thinking from windows only and I don't know the difference between in channel and stick on the outside which I have had a few times.

Can anyone please explain in channel to me?

Any opinions on which way I should go with these?

I have no experience with the in-channel visors, but the AVS stick ons have always worked well for me. I only had one set come loose on the front but they had been on there for years, so I replaced them with another set and had no more issues.

I just bought the in line visors yesterday. I will get them today. I will post pictures. I have always had the outside visors with the tape, but when the tape dries out you need to remove them and re-install new tape. In all the years I have used them though I have only done this once, but I think this was my fault- maybe I didn't clean the spot good enough? I wanted to try the new in line visors to avoid the tape. I'll let you know...

Just put mine in yesterday, they had the tape for the inside of the window housing and you close the window and leave them closed for 24 hours to set. It took me 10 minutes to install all 4 visors. The directions are simple and easy to follow. Good luck!

I've thinking about this as well. I'll probably go with AVS stick type. I have an AVS sunroof deflector on my OUTLOOK and there is 2 spots, one on each side around the front corners where the tape did'nt work, could of been an install error on my part too.

That is what I ended up doing too. I didn't want to risk scratching the glass.

Get the out of channel type. I had the in channel on my previous truck (GMC Canyon) and the in channel vent visors destroyed the windows, numerous scratches on top of the window (note:could be partailly due to sand from driving on the beach religously). I had out of channel on a car with no problem.

I ended up with the AVS stick type. AutoZone had them (the 4 pc) on sale for $49.99, save five bucks. Too dark for pics tonight, I'll post soon. I also bought a set for the wifes OUTLOOK. They also have the AVS bug guard on sale for $54.99, I might get one of those as well (I still like the painted one), we'll see.
