Just installed an HDX brush gaurd on my 1500...havent seen any pics with one so i figured id post it - So i installed this HDX series brush guard from ...

So i installed this HDX series brush guard from Westin. I have only seen pictures of the HDX brush guard on newer HD trucks. So this is my 2005 Silverado.

My review of this brush guard:
The HDX was designed for commercial use. Although this is for a work truck it is very stylish. The 2" tubing that is used on this is much more dutable than the 1 1/4" tubing used on most other brush gaurds i have seen. As for mounting the guard, it only took an 1 1/2hrs. to install it. I did most of it on my own. The only part i needed help with was mounting the guard to the brackets because this beast is 100lbs.! Another thing i loved about this guard was its punch plate in the from. It gives it a much different look that is very appealing. These retail for about $600 but i went to autoshephard.com and they had them for $449! on top of that i was able to frind a promo code putting it to $390. You will spend that much on a regular brush gaurd. The brush guard mounts directly to the frame with 4 brackets. 2 mounting to the same bolts as your tow hook (you can keep your tow hooks on with this brush guard) and 2 that go through your lower grille. Westin sends you more than enough bolts nuts washers ect. than youll need. Let me know what you think about if. If anyone needs any advise on it feel free to ask!

Looks good. IMO it would look even better without the mesh.

Are you planning on mounting any lights on it?

Looks good! Definitely looks heavy duty. Does Westin warranty the finish?

I just wouldn't want the mesh covering up that nice grill and bowtie.Makes it harder to clean as well. Otherwise the unit looks to be sturdy and well built.

Looks nice and beefy, but seems to interfere with the headlights beam.
