what truck to get?

what truck to get?

Postby silveradobro123 [OP] » Jan 15 2012, 5:19am

I found 2 good deals online today, and I really like the crew cab 2011 silverado 2wd ( I'm never going to go off road, I won't tow anything much, I'm not going to take it hunting or mudding). I also liked a 2011 extended 4x4 silverado (remember my above post I won't use 4x4 often if at all) which would you get

Hi,

If it were me... Since you like them both, then it's down to initial cost and insurance. 4 x 4's "tend" to cost more for insurance...
The other piece are the colors and trim levels...

That's my two cents - :-)

Question this first... Your turning 16 and getting a brand new truck? If that is the case, your insurance will be through the roof.

Otherwise, if you will never use 4x4, why get it? more maintenance and more initial cost and higher insurance premiums. If money is not an issue, get what ever you fancy.

Yup, go with the 2wd. You will save on insurance, mpg's will be better and less maintenance costs.

Well, if you don't have a crew of kids or a ton of folks to haul around you might do the Extended Cab.

I can't tell you how much crap I got owning a 2wd jeep and a 2wd S10. Loved the vehicles, but more than once I was in a position were I really could have used the 4x4.

just for the hell of it today I went in the sticks and smiled as I went were most can't. Well, BTW.

my 2 cents.

I personally would take the 4x4. Unless you need the extra space of having a crewcab. Either way you cant go wrong ;)

I went with the 2wd Crew Cab. I don't go mudding, don't go offroading, and like the better mpgs, and lower insurance rates. My insurance is high enough without the idea of a 4x4
