Wind noise from the windshield is driving me crazy!!!

Wind noise from the windshield is driving me crazy!!!

Postby se7en [OP] » Oct 18 2011, 12:15pm

Does anyone else have a problem with a poping or cracking sounds when doing 70+mph down the interstate coming from the windshield area? I think it may be window flex causing the problem because it depends on the direction of travel as to where the sound comes from. Say im traveling W the noise comes from the passenger side. Traveling E it comes from the drivers side. Has anyone else heard of this problem before? Ive done everything possible to figure out where its coming from and my best guess and others have determined "windshield flex". Thought i would run it by you guys

That is a common problem. At the time I was told there wasn't an official fix so I used the double sided 3m auto tape myself and that took care of the problem. But wow, that noise was irritating as hell lol.

I just noticed this yesterday, the same issue with the crackling/popping. Thanks for the information, time to make an appointment.
Would you suggest I print out the 08-08-48-003E info & take it with me or should I just mention what I am experiencing & hope they know what to look for?

Thanks for posting this... it gave me headaches this summer when on camping trips... I heard it at times, but not at other times...

I'll print this off and bring it to my dealer for a check under warranty!
