Wasnt real sure where to put this body or electrical but i was driving down the road the other day my fluid started spraying and wipers started moving like i hit the button to clean the windows. After it quit i checked turn signals, high beams, wipers, etc everything still worked. Well 5 min later it did this again, then 10 min after that it did it again. It hasnt done it since friday now not really sure what caused it, checked wires fuses and nothing cant find anything strange. Any ideas?
I bet there was a bug approaching >>> seriously that is a interesting one but I don't have an answer GL I gather the wiper/washer lever has a mind of it's own geeeeez >
yes its very strange..i called my dad because he owned the truck before me (went to trade it in so i just bought it for what they offered him on trade) and he said it has done it to him a few times and not to worry about it said it only happened once every few monthes it seemed haha.
I know it's not the same vehicle at all, but, the ones on my Crown Vic at work did the same thing and it was a bad windshield washer motor. They replaced it and that fixed the problem.
well i think i have it figured out..its 31 degrees here in ky this morning. A little frost on the windshield figured id try out my heated washer fluid option. wasnt real sure how it worked so i hit the button then hit my wipers like i was gonna spray my window, the frost/ice was melted so i went out about my business. After driving for a few min the wipers started spraying and moving then stopped then started again. Well i didnt know id have to disengage button. So i guess it something wrong with that system i know there is a recall and a $100 bill if you bring it and let them disable it. I guess i will check today and see if the offer still stands!
It actually sounds like normal operation of the heated washer system to me. If you want to do the recall, feel free. I added an alphatherm unit to replace my missing recall unit, so check that first. Should have an alphatherm sticker on it. The new units are supposedly safe and won't burn your truck up.
yea but my previous problems were the fluid and wipers going crazy with no buttons being pressed for no rhyme or reason. I will deff check into that unit though..thanks
I am thinking that it is indeed your heated washer system. I'd have it disabled, get the GM cash, and then go buy the new one. You will find them online for under $100, and will actually net some $$$ from this.
All the dealer will do is clip the wire and put on a wire nut. They make it easy for you to put a new one in if you want too!
