How to Change brake pads and rotors DIY Video

Postby SLCCHEVY [OP] » Apr 26 2012, 3:44am

Here is a video I made as I changed the pads and rotors on my NNBS 2007.5 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT. The pads I used were Hawk LTS, (from ebay) and the rotors were purchased from Autopartswarehouse.com, they were OE spec replacments. Total cost for front pads and rotors $150 and a few hours.

use the information at your own risk, thanks!

You are getting pretty good at these "How to" video's. I would suggest putting an old brake pad between your pistons and piston tool to prevent the one pad from coming back out when pushing the other one in. It will help push them both in at the same time (I use a "C" clamp instead of the tool you have, you can get more leverage with it).

Great, video, thanks. I'm getting ready to change the front rotors and pads on my 2006 Silverado Z71. I was thinking maybe I could do a "How To" but you've already got it covered.

No new brake hardware???? And those torx bits bolt arent necessary they are just from the factor during assembly. Its best putting new brake hardware on the caliper bracket!
