This is a How-To for installing bracket part # 23264893. There is an issue on the 2014 and possibly some 2015 trucks with the A/C Hi side (smaller) hose going from the compressor to the condenser. It can crack at the sharp bend near the drier (large swell in the line) and loose all your refrigerant. This is the same part and repair procedure the Dealer would use. This bracket can be had for cheap on Ebay. I purchased mine from a seller named "AutoNation" for less than $5.

This pic is of the 2nd generation hose, which requires no bracket and can be left alone.

This pic shows the bracket and orientation in which to install it.

In the next succession of pics, I will point to the hose in need of a bracket. It is located very close to the compressor clutch pulley.

To install, remove the skid plate under motor. 2) 15 mm and 4) 10 mm. Once removed, access is made and bracket can be installed using the orientation shown earlier. It will only fit one way, coupling the two hoses together. A step not included in the Dealer repair is to insulate the bracket from the hoses to avoid damage from vibrations since it is metal on metal contact otherwise. There are a few ways to do this. I chose a product made of silicone that can deal with low and hi temps and wrapped the hoses where the bracket will contact. I used this.

Everything can be done from the same position under the truck. I used a 1/4" drive and 2 extensions. A 3" and a 6" stacked to reach from the wheel side of frame of truck just under the wheel well liner to tighten bolt on bracket. The threads will bottom out and plates of bracket will touch each other so go till tight.

Replace the skid plate. Don't wrench the skid plate bolts too hard. The plate is plastic so just give them a good snug. Check your work, clean up and account for all your tools and your done.

I hate to hijack this thread but it's so close along this repair not to. I am installing the new updated hose (I currently have the bracket with the 2nd bad hose installed). I was wondering once I replace the hose, will I need to have it re-vac'd? Or do I just need to throw some more r134a in there if needed?
