2005 silverado door sensors?????

Postby furface [OP] » Sep 21 2011, 2:29am

Hi people, My 2007 silverado stereo will not shut off sometimes when I exit the truck and sometimes it will. With winter coming, I can't afford a dead battery. I am at wits end. :x

Does the dome light come on when you open the door? If so you may have a sticky relay. I was just looking at some wiring diagrams on a-zone, but they don't show much. I can look at work tomorrow. Do you have NBS or Classic?

I got kinda the same issue aftermarket stereo won't turn off period at this point I know I can fix it by removing then replacing power to it because it happened before but in doing so I would have to reprogram all the settings on the radio and that takes some time

That does sound like the door sensors. But I wouldn't worry about the battery, the bcm has a 20 min time out. I just looked at mine and there is no button, so the switch is part of door latch.

If this is only happening sometimes then maybe it can be cleaned. To do it right you should pull off the door panel, remove the latch assy and clean, inspect and grease it. Also, you should inspect the connectors.

I hope you don't need to replace it as it won't be cheap.

Hope this helps.

I'll have to look that up tomorrow. I'll check on the wiring, too.

Yours may be an accessory relay problem. That relay should be near the left kick panel. Do you have power windows? Do they still work when the radio is still on?
