2014 Heated and Cooled Seat @ Auto start

Postby Davidryan123 [OP] » Nov 27 2013, 5:13pm

I have read on other sites that there has been questions in regards to the heated and cooled seats working when Auto start on the 2014 silverado. I spent a few hours at the dealership yesterday in regards to this matter. GM and Myself has found there is no issue, if you own a 13 or older Chevrolet like I once did you remember the luxury of having the seats very toasty when you remote start the vehicle in the morning. Per GM those days are done, if you own a vehicle with ventilated seats that have cool/heat option and it is turned on through the mylink system the seats will be doing either or but you will not notice. If you take your hand and feel the very back of the seat in that little part where the back meets the bottom you can feel a slight bit of heat. That is all it will do unless the ignition on the vehicle is started, cooling, you will not really feel at all. Sorry but no fixes in sight that is just how it is now, what I did not test is if the models with just heated seats non ventilated heat up like the older models. Let me know if they do, although I live in the swamps of Beaumont, Texas it rarely gets cold I am more concerned with the cooled part of it. Also the heated steering wheel does not come on when auto start either keep that in mind so you do not waist time talking to the service people that do not know anything.

So if you remote start your truck, unlock it, put the key in the ignition, then push the heated seat switch, how fast does the seat heat up?

If you are sitting in the seat than a few minutes if you are not in the vehicle than it will not come close to comparing to the previous models. It heats at such a slow rate there has to be a body in the seat to insulate the little bit of heat coming out.

Thats too bad to hear. That is my favourite part on my 2013 and living in Canada. I think my next favourite feature is how it mutes the radio and shuts off the fan when you make/take a call via bluetooth. Too bad they are taking steps backwards.

I wonder if the '14 heated seats have one temp setting or three like the '13s or earlier?
