best way to replace redundant radio controls?

I have a couple that the lights have gone out..i have already bought the replacements..just wondered do they pop out the front or what all is involved? does anyone have any ideas?

You probably have to take the head unit out of the dash. Then take the whole plastic face off the head unit which should expose the lights. Replacing them probably means un-soldering them though. I don't actually know as I've never done it before. Maybe somebody who has done it will chime in.

the controls im talking about are actually the ones that are in the steering wheel, not the actual radio..for the most part..if u have something go out on the head unit or climate control..ur SOL and have to fork out money to replace it all..but thank you for your input

If memory serves me right, you have to remove the air bag and remove the switch from behind. I don't think the lights are user replaceable though. Read about the proper procedure to remove the air bag cause it is VERY dangerous to mess with. An air bag going off in your face will ruin your day! Not something to play around with. If you have ever seen an air bag go off, you would understand. I hope this helps.

thanx for the reply, i actually had the dealership take care of it for me..i replaced the ones i could..but yeah steering wheel has to come out

they replaced two of them labor cost was like 40 bux, since i had the parts already
