Dash Crack

Dash Crack

Postby Denali117 [OP] » Feb 01 2014, 5:21am

Ugh, so I recently bought a used Denali over the summer, Love the truck and it had very low miles and looked amazing inside and out well I just noticed recently in front of the center speaker on the dash is a small hairline crack, not very big but noticeable...and since ive noticed mine i've recently seen a couple of posts about other people having this problem, i had no idea it was such a common problem. Now I know basically the only way to fix this is to basically buy a whole new dash correct? Which would be the best way buying the dash from like gmpartsdirect or from the dealer? How much are the dashes (denali dash). Im not sure what to do. My dad had a old dodge truck back in the day and his dash cracked horrible. Didnt expect it on a truck like this. What do I do?

I had this exact problem, but on an 08 SLT, not a Denali. My dash was cracked in 4 places, so I went to my local GMC dealer and got a quote, but it was well over $1000. I posted my issue on here to see if anyone else had the same problem, and a GM customer service rep created a ticket for me, spoke to the dealership, and I had a new dash AND new interior door handle wraps (my chrome ones were peeling and leaving a razor edge) for $800. On top of that, GM paid half of it, so I only paid $400 out of pocket.

I hope you have similar luck, as GM customer service seemed to be much more helpful than my dealer.

This is a common problem with the NNBS bodystyle trucks. There is already an existing forum topic for this issue. It is How Common Is Dash Crack? I would try posting on there to have a better chance of a rep from GM Customer Service contacts you.
