Dome Light

Dome Light

Postby mramirez23 [OP] » Jun 07 2011, 8:39pm

I know this is a very noob question, but my truck used to turn on my dome lights in my 2008 Crew cab as I opened the door. Then all of a sudden, it stopped. Is there a setting that needs to be on or something? PS, I can manually turn them on, so it's not a fuse or dead bulbs.

I would have thought the setting would be under the DIC settings, but it isn't there.

It's all on page 3-21 in your owners manual:

Dome Lamp Override
The dome lamp override button is located next to the
exterior lamps control.
k(Dome Off): Press the button in and the dome
lamps remain off when a door is opened. Press
the button again to return it to the extended position so
that the dome lamps come on when a door is opened

My 2010 did the same thing I even went to the dealer and they didn't know. Right above the button that you push in to adjust the brightness of the left side of the dash is a tab. Push that like right above the push button that recesses in or pops out. That is the "cancel" button.

Isn't that exactly what my suggestion said? And you said it didn't work?

lzn197 what you suggested is correct but the manual is kinda vague. The manual makes it sound like you have to push the brightness button that goes in and out even the dealer thought that when reading the manual. The tab right above is what you push and when you do push it iy feels like it does'nt do anything but that one does stay in or out just very little. Even reading your post from the manual over and over again makes me think it is the brightness control cause it says "Press the button in and the domelamps remain off when a door is opened. Pressthe button again to return it to the extended position " that is exactly what the brightness control does. See how it is kinda misleading!?!?!?

I'd have to see it I guess and understand that sometimes manuals can be confusing. Happy you got it fixed.
