glove box handle

smaller upper glove box

glove box handle

Postby Bumpa4718 [OP] » Jun 26 2012, 8:36pm

Hello...I have several questions but i will start with the simplest. I have a 2008 Silverado that is new to me (2 days old). The little glove box that is above the main box has a sort of toggle handle on it, which is broken. Any ideas how to fix or where to get parts? Thanks all.

You can search this site. I tried to submit a direct link to what you were looking for, but it just went to the beginning of the catalog search. Look under body hardware/instrument panel and it should be number 23 in the diagram. (of course you must first enter your year and type of vehicle)

The aftermarket needs to come out with a better handle for this box. I am used to it but everyone agrees that the way it opens is a horrible design.

I am probably not willing to pay all that much to have it repaired, but it looks ugly with that handle half hanging there. It isn't a necessity, but it's just damn unsightlly.

I don't mind the upper glove box, and I realize they were trying to make it hidden/integrated into the dash, so a typical handle would look to obvious. You'd be amazed how many people couldn't figure out my 94 s10's glove box, they'd look at it and be like...how do I open it?

You can buy the complete piece as well on ebay. I didn't find just the handle though.

Now I might be willing to replace it. Thanks for the info. No, I don't mind how it WOULD look if it wasn't just dangling there. It came that way since i bought the truck used. Thanks so much for this helpful link.
