I keep getting a haze on the inside of my windshield a few hours after cleaning my windshield. What is the best windshield/glass cleaner out there that members are using? I just hate the haze that I get with using Windex or just a vinegar/water mixture....
It is probably an oily residue on the inside of the window. It could be from smoking in the truck which is a big cause of this problem. Another common reason is if you use some kind of vinyl conditioning spray on the dash and get just a little on the window, it sits there until you spread it around when you try to clean it. A lot of times the Windex, just doesn't cut it and you simply smear it all over the inside of the window. Maybe try cleaning it first with some dish washing soap and water and then follow up with the windex or vinegar & water.
Believe it or not, Chevy has a bullitin out about this. It says to just water and a sponge to clean the window. I had the same problem in my old truck.
I use zep products. Preferably in an aerosol can. I have a window tint business so I clean a lot of windows and this is about the best I've found. Adamspolishes.com has some really good glass cleaner but I can justify to spend that much since I use so much of it. You can usually find the zep stuff at home depot
I've never used that exact stuff. Home depot sells a green gallon of concentrate that you mix with water. Be sure not to mix it too strong. I use newspaper to wipe it down
I use the invisible glass aerosol. Finally getting all the smoke residue off the windows. Imagine it'll take longer to get all the residue out of my lungs...
Believe it or not. Just use plain water. Distiller water if you have some with a microfiber towel. Use black and white newspaper print to wipe off. Not color. Professional detailed just use newspaper to wipe the glass dry. Newspaper leaves the window clean without streaks and NO LINT. Just for windows though. When washing my truck. I dry it with an Absorber towel. It's a synthetic shami.
Non smoker here - This happened to my windows immediately every time I used the recirculate and then within a few days if I kept it on outside air only. I solved this issue by adding a air filter the the AC air pipes behind the glove box (It didn't have a filter for some reason) but b4 I put the filter in the pipes I soaked it overnight in vinegar then let it dry.
I learned this little trick from someone I met at a car show.
I've tried probably 100.00 + worth of glass cleaning products trying to find a decent glass cleaner but invisible glass didn't work for me no matter what type of cloth or paper i used. I notice how bad it is at night with light reflection streaks , haze, etc.
I use Invisible Glass also. I like the aerosol better than the pump sprayer though.
Whatever you use, be careful if you have aftermarket tinted windows and do not use a product with ammonia in it. It can possibly ruin the tint.

Invisible Glass seems to be the go to glass cleaner in the auto detailing word, at least of anything that is available retail. I would try soap and water first, then cleaner if its very dirty, its likely you are just spreading the residue.
Perhaps slightly off topic, but I have what can only be described as impossibly stubborn water spots on all my glass and mirrors. Someone suggested it was from washing with well water, but I can't speak to that. However, no amount of Windex, no amount of CLR, and no amount of elbow grease has made a dent in this stuff. Anyone have a suggestion to try next, short of full glass replacement? I'd like to get the windows tinted more, as I only have the factory tint now, but this stuff needs to get cleaned up first. At this point I'm up for about anything.
