Headliner falling

Headliner falling

Postby Q-Ball [OP] » Jan 17 2011, 10:26pm

All
I'm new to the board having just purchased an '03 2500HD Crew Cab with 8.1 liters of V8 gas sucking goodness. I noticed that the headliner has dropped or fallen an inch or so away from the cab roof, it's most noticeable right int he center of the cab, just ahead of the dome light. The header is still intact, in that the cloth has not fallen away from the backing board, just that the board has fallen away from the cab roof. If I push it back into contact it falls again with a sound like velcro separating. I thought perhaps a hypodermic with a little multi purpose glue through the headliner might do the trick, but I thought I would ask for advice before doing anything.
Thanks

Talk to a local trim shop. I believe a wire harness has maybe dropped down in the roof and caused the problem. Any water leaks at the top of the windshield? That could cause it too.

The headliners are held in by magnets glues to the liner. One must have come loose from the back of the liner.

Thanks to all. I believe the hypodermic needle or turkey injector with some liquid nail will do the trick. I've only been registered to this site for a few minutes and can already see this is an awesome site to be a member of. Thanks again to all
