Heated or Cooled Seats Button on side of seat????

Heated or Cooled Seats Button on side of seat????

Postby johnarias2012johnarias2012 is online! [OP] » Nov 04 2011, 1:04am

I recently purchased a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Texas Edition. Everything on the truck is great. It has started to get cold outside recently so I thought the button on the side of my seats was for heated seats functionality. Turns out the indicator light doesn't even turn on. I'm making an appointment with my dealership for them to check it out but wanted to see what you guys thought this button was for. On other models of this truck, including the Denali, the heated seats function is located on the door, which is why I'm wondering what the button is for since its on the seat itself

It is probably the lumbar button for the seat back.

Here's the driver side. One just like it on the passenger's side.

That doesn't look like an oem switch to me, it looks aftermarket. I thought LT/SLE trucks with heated seats had the switches in the cubby hole on the right side of the hvac controls?

I'm not sure if the location for the LTZ is different than the LT/SLE or not but mine are on the doors. Either way, that does not look factory to me. Have you tried checking for a bad fuse before going to the dealer?

That button looks exactly like the button on the aftermarket unit I just had installed in my 08 Silverado LT. It's in almost the same spot also. I'll bet the other seat is just the same, like mine is. Could be the dealer had the heated seats put in. Both buttons on my seats have indicators lights, yellow when on low and red on high.
