Heated Washer Fluid

Heated Washer Fluid

Postby nitro [OP] » Dec 29 2011, 5:50pm

Ok. So my truck has the heated washer fluid button on the dash. And I tried using it a week ago and nothing. Turned out there was no fuse in the box. I put a new one in but it still does not work.
So my question is.. Do these trucks come with the button, but no actual option for it?
Or do I need to do so more research on why my does not work.

I believe they were disabled by GM for a possible fire hazard.

There was a recall issued out about 2 years ago by GM for a fire hazard while using the heating feature, they couldnt come up with a fix. So they offered us the customers $100 dollars and they would disable it.

Yes GM did disable them due to them catching fire. That is why you can't get a new truck with them on it! I would just leave it alone and not worry about it!

like everyone else stated gm removed them for fire issues they had. The wiring should be there, so if you just to use the alphatherm unit you can wire it right in. Some people have them , some people don't..:)
