How would spend $1,200 on Interior Mods for a 2011??

Postby phatjoe [OP] » Feb 22 2012, 3:08am

Hello,

I recently purchased a 2011 SIlverado 4x4, extended cab, LS trim. I picked up some great tips from this forum! :D

I'm not looking to go nuts, but I'd like spend $1,000-1,200 on interior modifications. I've got no issues purchasing stuff on ebay to save money: So far, I plan to do the following:

Upgrade front door speakers - $130 (crutchfield)
Upgrade rear door speakers - $100 (not sure yet, crutchfield indicates modification)
DIC - $100
Possible radio upgrade -$200-300 (crutchfield)

Anyway, what else would you do/recommend? Any other "MUST DO" interior mods?

Please just keep the recommendations coming. I can always substitute from the list above, or spend more money. :P

Thanks,
P

There was a poster on here who put carbon fiber over all his trim pieces. I thought that looked great! I also liked the look of the LED interior lights that some people have done.

Get rid of the LS center console and put in the LT! You can replace just the jump seat cover not the whole seat.

I was looking into this, but has anyone successfully done this? If so, can someone send me the DIY link? Where would you purchase the LT center console?

Thanks

Here you go:
3-cup jump seat top fits LS trim 2-cup seatbottom perfectly

I have my parts on order from gmpartsgiant and plan on doing the install as soon as they come in. I will let you know how it goes. I would recomend going through gmpartsdirect, it is taking about a week for my order just to be processed with gmpartsgiant and have no idea of an approximate arrival date yet.

X2 on the console mod!

also the good leather seat covers that your dealer sells can be bought off e-bay for $5-600 and they look awesome when they are installed.

I agree. Weathertech floor mats. If you have cloth i would suggest some seat covers. The new material on these new body trucks collects every piece of lint, hair , fuzz, burdocks, feathers..I even found long pieces of womens hair in my seats that dont match up to my wifes..that could result in a divorce..eventhough i had no other women in there

If you want to spend some money on the interior, I would go for a serious sound system. New amps, some $250-$300 speakers, a small sub, and an upgraded head unit. You be going over $1200, but it would sound great! Look into Boston Acoustic speakers on crutchfield. They make some good stuff. If I were going to spend money on the interior, that's where I would look to spend it. Or, you can just give me some of the money for interior mods of my own. :)
