installing seats

Postby heavychevy1/2 [OP] » Sep 23 2011, 11:40pm

hi everyone this is my first post to this site. i just picked up a pair or heated leather seats (memory on the drivers side) and was wondering how to wire them up in my 2000 chevy 1500 i snagged from the boneyard all the connectors that i could ans assumed that these would make the power seats work but it wont make the heat work because the switches are located on the door. does anyone know of an informative how to article? i really need to know whatwire colors on the switch go to what wires on the seat any help would be great thanks in advance

May have to pick up a haynes manual and check out their wiring diagram. Sorry I couldn't help more, at least its a free bump.

go with a chiltons manual they tend to be more specific. i like haynes but they have a bad habit of trying to cover ten years of a truck verses chiltons 2-3model years

got the chiltons was never a huge fan of them. never the less both manuals had no power seat diagrams. all there was was a 99 model year diagram but i heard that 2000 and later were different so these manuals are useless. was really hoping to see some good color pictures online here to see if this will be possible

99 and 2000 are almost identical. i'd bet money that once you take a look at the seat harness it will follow the diagram perfectly. the 99silverado was a halfyear model so the only thing they really could have had time to change would be very minor. keep in mind a lot of people get confused on the 1999 old body style and the 99nbs. it wasent till last year that the parts stores around me had the 99silverado listed they kept trying to give me parts for the 99c/k 1500.

you might try talking to radio shack and figure out how to wire in your own control switch for the seat heater, if thats the only thing not working i'd go that route.
