Hey guys, i got a 2010 silverado, 5.3Liter, 26,000miles


I have faint exhaust noise on the drivers side, coming near the pedals. ANyone else experiencing this? Could anything in the exhaust be causing this or is there anything in the truck that might be allowing the noise through?

Sounds like the connection between the exhaust manifold and y-pipe is leaking barely. But everything looks tight and clean, no mods, just trying to find this noise. If it was an exhaust leak, there would be signs of that right?

PS: Does having the 6-speed in the new trucks create more sound than the old 4 speeds?

It's hard to tell what your "faint" exhaust noise is. But I have a nnbs with the 6 speed and I don't have any exhaust noises exept at the end of the tail pipe.

I guess if your trying to find a leak in the exhaust you could use some type smoke and wave it around the joints to see if it sucks it into the pipe. If it does then BAM, there's your leak.
